Anyone know a good method for getting the labels off of Red Stripe bottles and others that have painted on labels?

There's no way to get the labels off of red stripe bottles except by sanding. The bottles are coated with a dyed powdered glass, and are fired again to melt the label into it.
I should know, I have two cases of them and the only way to get the label off is with sandpaper.

You could try doing it with a sugar cube. Worst that happens is you waste some time and ruin a bottle.
