OK, I have an idea of how to make a controller for my walkin AC unit based on how a coolbot operates.
The coolbot is a temperature controller designed to work with an AC unit. It has a thermocoupler to read temperatures and switch the controller on and off, just like a Ranco unit or a Johnson controller. It has a frost sensor, but given that I live in the desert, I don't think that is a problem. Finally, and this is where I need ideas, it has a heating element/wire that is turned on and off by the unit. This is attached to the AC unit's temp. probe/thermostat and tricks the Probe into running well below its normal range.
Here is what I need:
What can I wire into a Ranco in the way of a heating element. The Coolbot's element is a wire that is roughly the same as the AC's thermostat probe/wire.
A fish tank heater, a light bulb in a container, ???
