I use US-05 and S-04 in my ciders, and they come out well. I was wondering if anyone has ever used a yeast from a cider in a beer? I'm thinking the cider yeast cake in something like a pale ale might lend an interesting flavor to the beer.

My ciders are typically in the 7-8% ABV range with no additions pre-bottling. The only concern I have is that I usually leave the cider in primary until it falls clear. Will the yeast still be viable, or should I rack it off sooner to preserve the yeast?
Thanks!
