If the weekend goes as planned, I want to start my third AG
brew. I have the ingredients for a Belgian Wit, but have been
thinking about how to have some fun with it at bottling.

I ordered a bottle of blueberry extract and thought about
adding a small amount of blue food coloring just for kicks,
but I figure if I really want to do things naturally, it might
be a better idea to use real blueberries.

I have read these pages for a long time and notice that many
of you suggest buying/freezing/thawing/crushing/straining
fruit in order to get the fruit flavoring.

How many blueberries would you suggest I use in order to get
a blueberry taste/color without overdoing either one? Would I
be ok to add the fresh blueberry at bottling like an extract or
would you recommend a secondary?

Thanks in advance!!

It depends on how much Blueberry flavor you want. I generally go 1-1.25 lbs /gal of homebrew. I have just done a Raspberry Wheat and that is how I went about it. It was not over the top but very noticeable. If you belong to SAm's Club or Costco you can get BB in #4 bags frozen

Thanks zman.. I'll take a look at my friendly
grocer's freezer.

Did you rack the beer on top of the blueberries
or add the strained juice at bottling?

I racked onto the Raspberries after fermentation completed. I think I let the secondary go for about 3 weeks
