I'm looking to brew something for my dad. He loves Labatt Blue, but I don't really have the equipment needed to do a lager. Is there an ale recipe out there that can get the taste pretty close to a Labatt? I'm thinking I'd be ok with just using 2-row, but I'm not sure on what yeast or hops I'd need to use to get the flavor right.

Nottingham yeast fermented under 18C would do the trick for you. But IMHO it takes a couple months to really taste clean and pick up those lager characteristics.

Thanks for the tips. I know that I can buy a 30 pack of Blue cheaper than I could brew it, but I'm doing it for fun, and hopefully create something that has a similar flavor profile as Blue, but better! I'll take this advice and put a recipe together, probably post the results here in a couple of months.
