I have a comp tomorrow night and my APA is a bit overcarbonated and has a carbonic bite. I've got them in the fridge and was wondering if I pop the caps tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest and recap immediately will they come to an equilibrium with lower pressure in 24 hours? Will the bite dissipate that quickly? Any other suggestions?

Aside from the bite the beer is awesome but I have a feeling I'll get dinged for it. I know if fades over time, but I don't have much time....

Thanks

Sure, but be careful, overcarbonated is better than undercarbonated.

If I am judging an overcarbonated beer I will note it, dock a point or two in mouthfeel and shake it out and otherwise judge the beer with a better carbonation level. If it has too little, the judge can't do anything to add c02 back.
