First time using S-04, usually use WLP002 for this receipt.

Brewed a 10gal brown ale this weekend. It was going crazy after about 12 hrs - here's a pick after 16 hrs. Anyone have the same results with this yeast and does anyone use that anti foam stuff? I know a blow off tube would have prevented this but it rarely happens to me. This action is better than a slow start for sure so no complaints there. Don't like adding anything like that to my beer so I guess I better go buy a few feet of tubing so this doesn't happen again. With all the head space I had in the carboy I thought I was safe.

I bucket ferment. I dont usually get that much action from S-04 - use it a lot though. I like the results.

That's quite a kreusen you've got going there.

S-04 usually finishes quickly for me. It should settle down now.
