Please excuse my noob question. Could someone explain to me Pros-cons of adding all extract at the beginning of the boil vs adding some at the beginning and some at the end?

Adding the extract at the end helps keep the beer from darkening and being a "thick" boil. The advantages are a lighter colored beer, and perhaps a less carmelized flavor.

I can't think of any advantages to adding all of the extract at the beginning, unless someone has a bad memory and forgets to add the rest at the end, I guess. :D
