Hi,
I'm keen on trying more advanced recipes and wonder why I need to boil the wort?
Some of the recipe I found give me different boiling time for 1/2h to 1h,why?
Thanks

The word brew means to boil. While you can cheat on extracts, as that wort was essentially boiled during its' production, boiling does a number of things including sterilization, hop extraction, hot break creation, color, etc. Get a good homebrewing book like Palmer's "How to Brew" which will answer most of you brewing questions and give good explanation of techniques, ingredients and styles. :mug:
