I'm pretty new to cider making and I've searched this forum, but couldn't find any info on using dried fruit. Does it work? I've got some dried cherries i want to use.

If they do work how do people normally prepare them?

I've used dried persimmons. I cook them in water for a couple of hours around 165. Strain out what I can and yeast it when cooled. It seems to work. Don't forget to account in your liquid volume the amount the dried fruit absorbs that can't be recovered.
