Planning on doing a sweet stout and I can't seem to figure which hops to use. I was thinking about using fuggles for bittering and kent goldings with a pinch of cascade for aroma. Anyone have any thoughts or opinions?

I wouldn't add any aroma hops to a sweet stout. Just use whatever you like to bitter, and call it good.

i use fuggles in mine, seem to work well and not get in the way of the core sweet stout flavor profile. no aroma hops.

Agree on the only using a bittering hop.

Fuggles make sense, I suppose, but I usually just use a high-ish alpha acid hop - last year, I think I used Pacific Gem. This year, I've got some Bravo set aside for it. One batch, I had a little bit of 13% Simco lying around and I even used that.

I use Magnum in my sweet stout. Just for bittering. Magnum hops a pretty neutral. I don't add any aroma hops.
