2 Coworkers and I are going to be undertaking our first all-grain batch in early June. We are looking for a recipe that we can split into 3 5-gallon (6-gallon pre-boil) batches, and each put our own spin on by using different types/quantities of hops and different yeast strains.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice, starter IPA base that we can each make our own? Hop and or yeast suggestions are welcome. 2 of us tend to like the more hoppy, aromatic taste, while the third prefers the more straight forward, clean finish. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Easy...just start with a basic recipe of 2 row...throw in a little CaraMunich to add a little charecter to it.

For a 16 ish gallon batch I would do 20 lbs of 2 Row, 3 lbs of Caramnich...at 70% efficency that gives you 15 gallons of 1.040 beer that you can flavor any way you want.

Cheers
