- Cherry/Banana Nose, Tart Cherry
My first attempt at a Fruit/wheat beer. First recipe posted to this site.
Grains
6.5 Pounds Wheat Malt
3.5 Pounds Pale 2-Row
.5 Pounds Rice hulls
Hop Bill
.5 OZ Hallertau @ 60 Min
.5 OZ Hallertau @ 15 Min
Fruit Juice
2-32 OZ jars Knudsen's Organic "Just Black Cherry" Juice
Added to carboy for 2nd fermentation.
Water
Golden, CO. Tap water
Turned out really great. Clean, refreshing. A bit sweet, but not overpowering. Bright Purple in color.
The banana ester was a nice compliment to the cherry. Keg is nearly a month old at this point, and i've noticed that the cherry is more prominent at this point.
