Ebay RTD

My K type thermocouples are rusting so I'm looking to replace them with RTD. I was pointed to the ones from Auberins, but before I spend the money on those, was hoping somebody had experience with ones from Ebay? Do they need to be stainless?

I don't know much about the RTDs themselves and what metals work best for them. However, I have stainless, copper, and brass metals in my kettles which have all been safe for me so far.

It's stainless and sturdy.

I originally tried another (cheaper) RTD from ebay that was like $10, but it eventually got flaky on me and I replaced it with that burly one.

try one of these, they work great and are much nicer then the $1 ebay probes. they are stainless steel and 1/4NPT threaded...

What purpose does the terminal head serve?

The big head on Walker's beefy probe prevents all the internal connections from damage during his inevitable rough handling of the unit.

Also, if you break or melt any of the wires you can easily connect up new ones, (can't figure out how to turn this into sexual innuendo).
