I recently saw a pic of somebodies keggle. He had combined the sight gauge with the outlet by use of a T fitting.

Cool, one less hole to drill!

Question, though. Will the fact that the sight gauge is combined with the outlet cause false readings in the sight gauge? Will the water tend to run out of the gauge, making it read low?

There is no problem doing that. Though you will have to have a valve on top of the tube or plug it up when your draining or else it will cause your siphon to stop

I think it will read lower while you are draining from the valve, but will read correctly when it's closed.

I know it will do this because my HLT Mark I is like that. Full open it drops by nearly a 1/2 gallon mark, but a slow drain is a pretty small drop.

FWIW, I'm going to rework it so the valve is on its own when I get around to HLT Mark II.
