I built a DIY hop spider ala this guy and it's working great in my 7.5 gal. turkey fryer kettle.

But I'm getting sick of watching the first 30 mins. for boil-overs and am about to make a 15.5 gal keggle.

If I'm making 5 gal batches (boiling 6.5 gals or so) in a keggle, will the 5 gal. strainer bag get down low enough in the keggle? Does anyone use this design in their current keggle?

Thanks in advance.

I have a very similar hop spider I use in my keggle and it is fine. If you have a problem with the height of the bag just get a longer one, they are cheap.

I use fermcap and I love it, but right now it's almost impossible to do 90 min. boils so I'm hoping for some more head space.
