So I have BYO's clone recipe book, and have started the newcastle clone as a request for a friends birthday. The recipe calls for making one batch of Old Ale and aging for 2 months, then mixing with a young batch of Amber Ale. I brewed the Old Ale a few weeks ago as an extract batch. My question is, can I brew the Amber Ale as an all-grain, or will it have a negative consequence mixing the two?

Thanks...I kinda thought there wouldn't be a problem. I thought about doing a single recipe clone, BYO has one that says just to use 3/5 of the old ale and 2/5 amber, but I wanted more of a traditional affect by aging the old ale before combining. I'll let you all know how it is a few months :)
