BYO's Newcastle clone question

So I have BYO's clone recipe book, and have started the newcastle clone as a request for a friends birthday. The recipe calls for making one batch of Old Ale and aging for 2 months, then mixing with a young batch of Amber Ale. I brewed the Old Ale a few weeks ago as an extract batch. My question is, can I brew the Amber Ale as an all-grain, or will it have a negative consequence mixing the two?

If the Old Ale is to your liking, then you should have no issues.

I agree I don't see any problem with blending an extract and an all grain beer.

Or you can keep the old ale. And make another batch using biermuncher's newcastle clone.

Thanks...I kinda thought there wouldn't be a problem. I thought about doing a single recipe clone, BYO has one that says just to use 3/5 of the old ale and 2/5 amber, but I wanted more of a traditional affect by aging the old ale before combining. I'll let you all know how it is a few months
