I miss ordered a part for my brew pot. I need a plug and barb and went to HD and they only had brass. Any problem using a brass vs stainless steel until I cam source SS?

Less of a problem for a brew pot than it would be for a fermenter; brass oxidizes. I don't imagine your beer will be spending enough quality time with the brass to make a difference.

Nothing wrong with the brass, but you might want to pickle it first.
Make a solution of two parts white vinegar to one part hydrogen peroxide (common 3% solution). Soak your brass parts* for 5-10 minutes at room temperature. Rinse with water.

This ensures that there is no surface lead left over which could get into your beer. Of course, lead is more of a problem for developing children than for adults, so don't give your beer to kids, just to be sure.;)

*Only the parts that you use for brewing†

†I mean, the parts that will directly contact the wort‡

‡You know what? I don't want to know about your personal brewing touches.
