I've been thinking about this for a while now.....

Imagine a 10Gal rubber maid cooler, with a hoop screen outlet port. (It seems like everyone is doing this now...) but what if you put a thermocouple in there with a hot water heating element, and a PID controller that was programmable for step mashing. Then on the lid, a small motor with a paddle attached for constant stirring. I'd need a mesh screen around the heating element, and a float sensor for making sure there is liquid present for the heating element so it doesn't burn up.

Has anyone done this? If not let me know what you think. I'm this close to sketching something up and planning this.
