ok im brewing a scotish light ale just moved to secondary over oak chips that i boiled (i know after doing some reading should have soaked the in whiskey or bourban)my question is how long did you let your beer sit on the oak chips?i would not mind a little oak flavor but also would not like it to strong,or will it not change the flavot to much over the next few weeks in secondary.my sg was 1.043 and i took a gravity reading today and it was at 1.014 the recipe calls to have a fg of 1.010-1.012 so im not far from that but again dont want a strong oak flavor.thanks in advance.
