Has anyone found or attempted a clone for Hacker-pschorr hefeweisse?

-Justin

I went over to the German Google and found this recipe for a Hacker-Pschorr Dunkel Weisse Clone which I translated:

5 gals

all grain/single mash

4 lbs pilsener malt
5,6 lbs wheat
8 oz rice
8 oz Munich malt
7 oz Cara malt
1 oz chocolate malt

1 oz Tettnanger hop (60 min)

Wyeast 3638 yeast

Just omit the chocolate and there you have it.

The DME conversion comes out to about 5 lbs 8 oz. give or take.

I use 6 lbs in my recipes. For a sweet banana flavored weizen I use a scant 3% AA for 60 mins and ferment in the 70s.

For a clovy, more bitter flavor I'd up it to 3.5 - 4% AA and ferment below 70.

It seems like every Hefe recipe I see calls for the same stuff, no matter who they are trying to clone.
I mean really, is there really that much of a difference between the hefe's? I can't tell it.
They all seem the same to me.
