I had my brother send 4 kegs to a welder to get converted to keggles. We're starting really basic and only putting a single port on all of them and put a pickup tube on the other side. As we grow into our setup, we'd add ports for volume / recirc / temp etc..

They came back, and the welds are beautiful. However, instead of using NPT Couplers, they used a half coupler.

What's are my options here? The only thing I can think of is getting a machinist to create me a nipple that doesn't tighten up until 1" in so that I can thread it all the way through.

Use it for a sight glass and get another coupler welded correctly for drain

I would do what cyberwolf suggested, and for the ones you don't want a sight glass use a plug, or make it a thermometer/thermowell. But since they f'ed up I would have them weld in 4 full couplings.
