Ok, I've ordered most of the parts for the simple controller set up for my HLT.
My question. Since I'm dealing with a 30 amp 240 volt circuit with incoming power on 10 ga. wire to the terminal strips, Should I continue with 10 ga. wire throughout the build?

See if I can do this...

Only use 10 on the wire that goes from the incoming power to the element, including the 220 side of the SSR. anything going to the PID is carrying very little, use something like 18 ga. whatever you have close to that.

Yes, and follow those all the way back to where they come in to your control box. Like the red wire that comes from the power source and hooks up to the SSR. I cant click on your image and get it any larger to make notes on it. Also the Ground that goes to your 3 prong plug should be 10 or 12 awg.
