Hi all
I planned to brew a 2.5 gallon weissbier batch last night with my recipe calling for a boil volume of 1 gallon and an addition of 1.5 gallons of cold water to the wort in the fermenter for completion. However, I only added 1 gallon of cold water to the fermenter at the end. As a result, my OG is pretty high - 1.080, and according to my calculator the OG would have been fine (1.056) if I hadn't forgotten the extra 0.5 gallons.
It has been 12 hours since I pitched the yeast. Is it too late for me to add the forgotten 0.5 gallons of water or can I quickly open the airlock and add the water?
Thanks
