so i just tasted my first beer from my first batch (i could not wait!)

its a weizenbeer from Williams Brewing, i still have 2-3 weeks before they should be "done" i only put them in bottles 6 days ago, however i leave in 10 days, so i guess my question is if i should expect things to be decent by then?

i know i am being anxious, but when i tasted it tonight i found the flavor to be very lacking, and could not even taste ANY alcohol flavor. i know its a really light alcohol taste. but i was expecting some more than this... i'll be starting a new batch when i get to my new location, but i was hoping this first batch would taste good, its been fun, so i will be doing it anyway, but should it taste more like beer at this state? right now it taste almost like water, slight beer flavor. no alcohol.

just worried this first batch is ruined...

Six days isn't enough to really give a good judgment. I brewed one of the Williams wheat kits awhile ago and it took at least a couple of weeks before it started to taste good and then it just got better from there. Give it a little time.

So RDWHAHB! :mug:

Alcohol flavor and/or aroma would be a flaw in in most wheat beers. It shouldn't taste like water though - did you hit your original gravity? Is the beer carbonated yet? Carbonation will add to the mouthfeel.

Be patient - it takes experience to extrapolate what the final flavor will be like from a green beer. Chances are it'll be ok.
