Thanks to all who responded with advice. I took the very subtle hint and going to make sure to go to howtobrew.com. I'll let you know how this first batch turns out (probably crappy but I can always keep my fingers crossed).:tank:
 
Best of luck. My first brew turned out well enough, and it was just extract with some hops thrown in. As long as you follow good cleaning / sanitation practices, and follow the general steps, it's hard to go wrong.
