Hello all,

I am new to brewing but have done weeks of reading and research on the process.
I have purchased all my equipment and have decided to jump right in and do a partial mash Murphy's Irish Stout clone.

I have my yeast starter going and will be brewing this weekend.

I also have a 75/25 beer gas cylinder and a stout faucet.

My question is what length of 1/4" beer line should I use and at what pressure should I serve it? Also is force carbonation necessary?

I have read so many articles on this that my head is spinning.
Anybody here have some practical experience that might help me figure it out?

Don't want to pour a bad beer ya know!

Thanks

I don't believe length of line matters other then the further you go (if outside your cooling vessel) the more warm beer you will have to pour off before serving. There could be a length not to exceed but sorry I don't know what that is.

Force carbing just lets you serve the brew sooner with carbonation but will make bigger bubbles. This also does not account for aging the brew, it will still get better with time you will just have bubbly "green" beer.

You can naturally carbonate with priming sugar and use the cylinder to pressure and serve.
