Hi,

I've seen a few DIY posts about building a tap for a 2 or a 3 liter bottle.

Here are a couple of examples:

I'd like to get one that has ball-lock connections, so I can easily hook it up to my 5lb co2 tank and the faucet.

Can anyone here build one of these for a reasonable price? I'm actually planning to use it with just carbonated water for now.

Alternatively, does anyone know where I can get a 1 gallon keg with ball-lock connections? I've read online that they exist, but can't find them anywhere.

The requirement for a ball lock connector is the hardest part. I've seen people that found ways to adapt the threads to NPT somehow, but it's not an off the shelf part as far as I know.

The only reason I want a ball-lock connector is because that's the only connection I have going to my co2 tank. I'm pretty sure I've seen them for sale at one of the online brewery shops, I'd have to look again.

Alternatively, I'm wondering if it's possible to modify a seltzer bottle to be hooked up to a CO2 tank direclty

+1
Just use NPT. A few quick turns to remove from your ball lock QD and a few turns to thread on to the NPT.

if your co2 line has a flare fitting than just use a flare fitting on the T unscrew the line from the ball lock and install on the t

i haven't seen any ball-lock posts that have npt threads, but several online vendors sell adapters that have npt threads on one end and ball-lock post threads on the other.

I think you are talking about these:
NPT to Ball Lock adapters

As for small kegs... They do exist. I have three 5liter ball lock tanks and would not give them up without a fight. They are rare. The picture is some of the 10liter and 5 liter tanks I have.
