Im looking for a recipe for Troegs Sunshine Pilsner. I tend to not like pils. but man they just knocked it out of the part. Its super crisp with a great citrus taste and nose. Thanks

I'm also interested in this...going to brew my first pilsner as soon as I can find a good recipe. Sunshine pils is good stuff :mug:

They do a great job giving you most all the info you need right on the website:

http://www.troegs.com/beers_sunshine.htm

Sunshine Pils®
Alcohol by Volume: 5.3%
Hop Bitterness (IBU's) : 45
Color (SRM) : Straw/ Golden
Availability: Seasonal
Malts: Pilsner, Crystal

TASTING NOTES
Hop fans rejoice! Sunshine Pils combines the crisp taste of European style pilsners with a kicked-up hop character to create a balanced, refreshing seasonal beer. Golden in color with a fluffy white head, Sunshine Pils is the perfect beer for Summer.

I have a christmas brew in the works based off their Mad Elf info from the site.

Yeah, you can come close to a first clone from their site. Here is a real quick crack at it:

What type of liquid yeast would be best for this recipe?
And would dry hopping be necessary?

Any thoughts on what liquid yeast would be best? I was planning on getting the ingredients today.

Giving this thread a bump. I am planning on trying this clone and curious if anyone has tried and has recommendations?

An even bigger bump I want to attempt a clone next year, given the lager yeast, right now I am a super noob, and want to know whether you brew this as a lager or could you attempt as a ale?

Another bump from me... anyone have any success with this clone? Sunshine pils is one of my all time favorite beers and I'd love to come close with a homebrew.

Any suggestions regarding time/temperature on fermenting?

So I just tapped 5 gal of the pils, which was (10 gal batch) 19# pilsner straight up, mashed @ 149, 3/4 oz Sterling (whole, 9.3%) @ 60 and 30, and 3/4 of tettang @ 15', 40 final IBUs. 1.050 OG

Fermented with Bohemian lager @48* for first three days, then bumped up a few degrees every 3 days. Finished out @ 1.010 and it's a pretty good pils, dry and bitter like Sunshine pils. Maybe bump up the tettang addition to an oz.

The other half with Danish lager is on deck, added sulfate to that one. Good luck!
