I'm going to be in Vegas for my bachelor party in October. I'm wondering if anybody knows of any places that you can taste flights of beers? For instance I have a local beer bar with 40(ish) beers on tap and you can get a flight (sampler size) of any 5 beers you want. I want to share that type of tasting experience in Vegas with some of my friends. Any ideas?

Freakin Frog had a pretty good selection while I was there. I enjoyed both Big Dogs and Chicago Brewing Co everytime I visited them. Pour 24 upstairs in NY NY is solid to stop by if you're with non-craft lovers and need a solid beer you can walk away with.

The Yard House has 230ish beers on tap cant beat it. Its in a out out side mall called town center. Its at the end of the strip takes 10 mins on a bus from center strip

I highly recommend The Pub at Monte Carlo. Had some excellent Hitachino Nest beers there recently. Also got a good discussion with the barkeep about Chicha. They should be able to tickle your flight-y bone. Also, ask them about their beers they used to microbrew. They had to contract them out to an external brewery unfortunately, or this place would be called a brew pub now.

Chicago Brewing Company usually lets people have small samples of their beers for free before you order. I think they usually have about 8 beers.

Yard house has a good selection, but they only do 2 flights. 1 flight is Belgian Ales, which are all pretty good in my opinion. The other flight is decent, but it is more commonly found beers.

Haufbrouhaus probably doesn't have tastings, but they do have full liters.

I think it is closer to 120, but still a pretty large selection.

I was at The Pub the weekend before last. Great place, good selection. A bit pricey but they had some good options and the bartender was very generous with giving us free samples. I think the wife and I got about 10 and we only asked for two of them.

I'm not sure if they do flights. They do have a beer menu on their website but the actual selection is a little different. It should say if they have flights.

Big Dogs Brewery (multiple locations) is by far the best local brewery and you can order samplers of their beers. They make really good hoppy beers too, even up against all the local San Diego pale ales I drink regularly.

I totally agree with this statement. The best Big Dogs is the Draft House (the original) on North Rancho Drive.

If you're just hanging out on the strip and feel the need for a break and a good pint, Pour 24 is always good. 24 taps of good stuff. It's a free-standing bar in NYNY, just over the bridge between NYNY and the MGM Grand.

If you can get off the strip, Big Dogs is well worth it. Aces & Ales is awesome but their location isn't exactly convenient (unless you're staying at Sam's Town)..... Back to the strip though, Burger Bar - pour 24 - yardhouse - The Pub - Holesteins (my spelling could be off), those are the places!

Burger bar in Mandalay has a KICK ASS beer list. And damn fine burgers too.
Sin City brewery (more like tasting bar) in the Flamingo has decent beers.
Stay away from 777 brewery in old vegas. 4 out of 5 of us didn't finish a single beer on our samplers there.

They have some good beers there but the prices are outrageous. 13.00 for a Murphy's Stout

Holy ...!!! Last time I was in Vegas I was disappointed I couldn't get in there because it was closed party for the Mayweather fight, but now I don't feel so bad.

Hmm. I am not a fan of Sin City brewery. They are definitely more about souvenirs than they are about brewing.

If you want to go to a place with someone like her as your bartender:

or you want a place with some fancy souvenirs like this:

Then you should go to a Sin City brewing booth.

If you want good beer, you should probably go somewhere else. They are drinkable, but they totally lack flavor.

Agreed. And my good buddy(ex-roommate) bartends at Yard House. He told me their house beers are contracted out to Sin City to brew, and that he never recommends them.

I agree sin city is very much about souvenirs and merchandise, but I disagree that they don't make good beer, I'm a big fan of they're stout & weiss, a couple months they had a Czech Pils that was very good also.

However, If you were to say they were overpriced, then I would also agree.

The Pub in the Monte Carlo has already been mentioned, but would be the only recommendation I have... Three buddies and I went in and ordered a beer each, and the bartender gave us 5 tasters and 4 Firestone beers for free... It was a little pricy, but if theyre throwing good beer at you for free you tend to forget about that. I would recommend at least stopping by for a pint.

Not for a sampler but Ellis Island Casino is near the strip and has $1.75 22 oz beers they make. The beers are pretty good. Plus you can't beat $1.75 for a large beer around the strip or any bar for that matter. They used to be $1 but recently have been raising their prices.

There is also Gorden Biersch off of Paradise road. They probably have samplers.

Aces and Ales probably has the largest selection of craft and imported beer in Las Vegas but it is not near the strip.
