So I entered three beers in the Great Arizona Homebrew Competition. I'm happy to report that one, my Stone Clone (of their Pale Ale) got 40.5 points and a gold medal! Yeah boy!

Funny that of the three, I thought it was the weakest. Just goes to show how my tastes compare to the BJCP folks. :)

Looks like the Wall of Fame at the future Anger Management Brewing Company is off and running. :mug:

My best batch to date was stone pale clone. It is way better than the store version. I did not count aa so mine came out hoppier. The only downer was the hard water from my tap.

The recipe is from byo magazine 12/2008. It is the actual recipe. When you place them back to back it is obvious with color and body. I can't find the pdf atm.

Yeah that's the recipe. Personally my favorite Stone beer is the IPA. My happy place is sitting at that bar in the picture, sipping on little glasses of heaven.

Congrats! It is always a great to medal. I hope your score sheets give you constructive feedback too.

FWIW, I got a gold medal 2 summers ago for a blonde ale that I thought was just OK, but my friends raved about. I submitted it based on their feedback (I was on the fence). My other 2 beers were really good, but not great matches for style and that is what BJCP scores are based on.
