Finally finished applying everything to mine. Decided on a Star Trek theme (TNG, mainly).

Thanks!

It is a bulava - a Cossack hetman's ceremonial mace - its a Ukrainian cultural thing.

Help me with a Ukrainian toast... it is something like "Boy-jaa" or "Die Boy-jaa"

Are you familiar with it? I am sure the spelling is way off, I was just sounding it out.

P.S. your keezer rules!

Here is my in progress set up. The cabinet below the taps is currently being refinished to match the top. Also there are doors and a cask swan neck tap that is coming out the front of the beer engine.

the last picture is of the back of that wall.

Nostrovia? That's what my brother's Ukranian wife says for toasting... but apparently it's Russian.

"Budmo" or "Dybosia" (not sure on the spelling) is a Ukranian toast. They mean something along the lines of "May we live forever"

"Na zdorov'ya" is Russian, and actually not a drinking cheer / toast from what I understand, though it has been improperly used as such for years by non-russians that it has become one.

Thanks!

My basic 3 tap keezer. Went with the forward sealing ss perlicks, so not really thinking of a drip tray yet. Honestly...these things just don't drip. Rarely if at all.

Na zdorov'ya (На здровя) means "on (or to) your health" in Russian. Many other languages say apx the same thing before a drink, so I would say that's a fair aproximation of a toast.

I just completed my keezer. I took inspiration from here, though I came up with a different means of attaching the drip tray.

The keezer:

For the drip tray mount, I bought 2 15" hanging plant hooks from Lowe's. I bent them slightly, both to make the tray sit level, and to center it under the faucets. See here:

Stealing your drip tray design now! My double sided 3m tape did not work out :cross:

Yes but from what I have read, it is primarily used as a response to "spasibo" (thank you) it everyday settings, and not necessarily a "toast".

then again, the Brits use "cheers" outside of toasts all of the time.

Just took these for someone on another forum, so I might as post here since I haven't yet. A 5.2 cu. ft. Danby (DKC146SLDB, I think). It came with a single-tap tower, but after a couple of months I picked up the dual-tap conversion piece from Northern Brewer along with the Perlick. Also, I didn't have to do any modifications to this to get it cold...a lot of reading here led me to believe it might not get under 40, so I cranked it all the way and found it in the morning with a mess of frozen solid beer. I keep the knob in the middle and it's right where I want it (and it's nice to be able to go lower for the occasional homebrew cold crash).

Late 1940s or early 1950s Crosley Shelvador. Got it from a local appliance store for $40. A couple of holes later and it's a kegerator.

Here is mine how it started and how it looks sitting in the dining room. Perlick 8184B kegerator for $200 WITH the co2 tank and 1 corney keg!

I have lurked around here for a while, and the information on this forum is excellent. I built a pretty standard keezer using a 7.0 cf GE chest freezer and the various guides on this forum. I think it turned out pretty nicely. Here it is!

I still need to setup a fan to even the temperature difference between top and bottom (which sits around 20-30 degrees with no fan). Temporarily, I put a small fan inside just to see what kind of airflow is necessary, and it brought it almost even top to bottom and it is virtually silent from the outside with the lid shut.

I set it up for two, but this could easily hold four pin locks in the future. Or two pinlocks and a 6.5 gallon carboy, which is what I plan to do for now.

What size and model is that?

7.2 cu magic chef. Bought it on craigslist, so I don't know what year it is. Put a 9" collar on it I think made of 2" foam and plywood. I have actual ball lock kegs though, not converted pin locks. So they are like 8 1/2 inch diameter....don't think it would fit 4 pin locks on the floor.

Started building my keezer today. Got most of the cabinet done. Now I have to build the top.

Wow, that is a lot of information to take in and drool over. Just curious if anyone has taken a side by side fridge and turned the freezer into a fermentor and the fridge part to a kegerator? I am working on the kegerator that was approved by the SWMBO for the house but want one in my garage and I am limited on space in the garage and want to add kegerator and fermentor.

And with that I have read all 344 pages of this thread. I'm well armed to start my keezer build in a couple of weeks, thanks to the excellent ideas and hard work of all of you fine people! :ban:

Thanks! :rockin:

Jim
