Extract recipes that tastes like Sam Adams boston ale??

I wanting to brew some thing like the Samuel Adams Bostion Ale. All replys would be helpful. Thanks brewers!!!!

If you want to make a beer like one of SA's their website is a good place to start. There are good descriptions and listed ingredients of all their beers. Below is the listing for the Boston Ale. IMO one of their better beers and often overlooked because of all the push given to the SA Boston Lager.

Flavor: Bright, citrus aromas and earthy flavors from the traditional English ale hops and a full bodied caramel malt sweetness.
Color: Red to amber
Original Gravity: 13.2° Plato
Alcohol by Vol/Wt: 5.1%ABV – 4%ABW
Calories/12 oz.: 177
Malt Varieties: Two-row Harrington, Metcalfe, and Copeland pale malts, and Caramel 60
Hop Varieties: Hallertau Mittelfrueh Noble hops, East Kent Goldings, and Fuggles
Yeast Strain: Samuel Adams ale yeast
Availability: Year round
First Brewed: 1988


For a basic extract brew try this:

6 lbs Light or Extra Light Dry Extract
1/2 lb Crystal 60L, steeped

1 oz Fuggles @ 60 min
1 oz Hallertau @ 30 min
1 oz EKG @ 10 minutes

White Labs East Coast Ale Yeast WLP008

You might want to rearrange or blend the hops but it should get you in the ballpark.

Actually, now that I think of it. I think Jim Koch made a video of how to brew Boston Ale. Not sure if it's 100% their exact recipe, but he demonstrates an extract brew of it.
