Long-term domestic relationship
3. Do you have kids?
No direct genetic progeny that I know of.
4. Where do you live?

5. What is your occupation?
Mainframe systems programmer, and I manage a team IT dinosaurs. Rumors of the mainframe's demise have been greatly exaggerated.
6. Do you smoke?
Cigars and pipes. I'm a major fan of good cigars.
7. What way do you "lean" politically?
Former Trekkie, turned progressive, turned libertarian, now abolitionist, anti-state, anarcho-capitalist. Essentially Rothbardian. There's no government like no government. I am my own authority. I do not consent to be governed. But I still like to read David Corn, the editor of The Nation, go figure.
8. Are you religious?
No. I was once a theomachist, but I got over that and now I'm resolutely atheist. Ethically I'm an objectivist, although not entirely Randian. Atlas Shrugged.
9. What do you drive?
Jeep Wrangler Sport, lifted, Warn winch, rock rails, 33's, 4.56 gears, ARB front, Detroit locker in the rear, etc.
10. What would you consider your personality? (outgoing, shy, bubbly, etc.)
Charming; a paranoid extrovert. I love you. Don't f**k with me.
11. Do you believe in global warming?
I think the earth goes through natural cycles of which global warming and global cooling are part. The present evidence of global warming are likely indicative of that cycle. Humanity unquestionably has an effect on the environment, and that effect is often deleterious. I reject tree-hugging mud-hut groveling Luddite solutions and favor instead the continued advancement and improvement and development of technology to both counter and to reduce the damage caused by human civilization. But, I'm a great fan of humanity, even though I think most people are f**k*d up.
12. Tell us something about yourself that we'd never guess.
As an unpaid volunteer, I catered a small picnic gathering for a local Free State Project group in 2004 at which Libertarian presidential candidate Michael Badnarik was the featured guest speaker. That was about the time that I was coming to grips with my growing conviction that government is unjustified and lacks authority, and that voting is an act of aggression.

Hey folks, that's my brother!
Guess I'll do this, too. Hang on...

Note the difference between my brother (beer4breakfast) and me: Yes, Pipes and cigars. I love a good tobacco in a well made pipe!
7. What way do you "lean" politically?
Left of center, but not off the charts. I have a bumper sticker that reads, "I love my country, but I fear my government".
8. Are you religious?
No. Once upon a time, I was deeply entrenched in the bowels of Charismania. My beliefs now are fashioned more after my native ancestors. I believe a higher power exist. I refer to this power as Grandfather or Great Spirit. But I can still sing a mean gospel song at a jam or a funeral when asked.
9. What do you drive?
2000 Toyota Tacoma extended cab.
10. What would you consider your personality? (outgoing, shy, bubbly, etc.)
Friendly and warm, but somewhat reserved until I get to know you.
11. Do you believe in global warming?
Of course. It's scientifically evident. However, like my brother, I'm not convinced it is caused by SUV drivers. Unlike my brother, I'm probably more a tree hugger than he is. That doesn't stop me from using paper or being in favor of cutting down a forest if the greater good is for humans rather than the spotted owl, though.
12. Tell us something about yourself that we'd never guess.
When I was little and my sisters ran a dance studio out of our house, I took ballet (until I got big enough to refuse...I think I was 6).

11. Do you believe in global warming? Nope. Not enough data collected but I do believe we need to cut down human pollution.
12. Tell us something about yourself that we'd never guess. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about 3 years ago. The doctors and nutritionists tell me I have to stop drinking beer but they can kiss my a**.

1) I'm 25.
2) I'm married.
3) I have no children at the moment.
4) I live in Central PA.
5) I'm a software developer.
6) I don't smoke.
7) Socially, I lean pretty far to the left. Socialized health care, paying higher taxes to help the needy, doing everything in my power to not harm the environment, etc. don't scare me in the least. Obama in '08.
8) I'm Catholic and attend mass fairly regularly.
9) I drive a 1998 Honda Civic. It's rated at 38 MPG, but I get 45 highway.
10) I'm pretty damned shy, but a lot more outgoing once you get to know me.
11) I can't imagine not believing in global warming. Six billion people are more than enough to physically alter the planet's climate. Just because we're historically due for a warming trend doesn't mean human-caused global warming isn't happening, just like being paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
12) My dad played lead keys for the Bee Gees (such a lame fact, but there it is).

7. What way do you "lean" politically?
Voted Dem, but am independant on several issues. Jon Stewert is my political icon.
8. Are you religious?
7th Day Recreationalist. :D Organized Religion is for the disorganized. I believe in God, but don't believe in any intervention in our affairs. Attend a Roman Catholic with my wife on occasion. I think that people find the rituals and prayer comforting, which is good if you believe in them. I don't.
9. What do you drive?
2003 Jeep Wrangler. Wife drives a 2000 VW Passat.
10. What would you consider your personality? (outgoing, shy, bubbly, etc.) Should be somewhat evident by my posts. I usually wait to see if I think people are worth my time before I open my mouth and so initially people think that I am quiet. (Sort of like Pumbaa, but more pre-emptive) I am usually snarky and will make some rather obscure references in my humor.
11. Do you believe in global warming?
I'm dismayed by the amount of people that don't believe that our current and projected level of growth doesn't have an imapact on the planet. Don't think of Global Warming as having to be this doomsday desert planet and 90° January days Barrow, Alaska for there to be Global Warming. It really amounts to small degree changes to the overall system to cause far reaching weather problems and intense localized drought, flooding, ect. Just wait until 10% more Chinese get automobiles and the rest of the 1 BILLLION are chugging around on 2-stroke motorcycles. I feel like we're all yeast in 78° wort.
12. Tell us something about yourself that we'd never guess.
My Social Security Number would be hard to guess it's...
To know someone is to drink with them. Great food and drink can bring the world together.

I hate to stir things up but remember what a tiny little bacteria can do to a 5 gallon environment. 6 billion people with huge ecological footprints can do quite a bit of damage too.

Same thing that 100 billion+ yeast cells can do to 12 feet of large intestine.

7. What way do you "lean" politically?I'm definitely conservative when it comes to foreign policy. I'm middle of the road on many domestic issues. I can't stand anyone who is radical left or radical right on any issue.

8. Are you religious? I was brought up Roman Catholic and I believe in the virtues of organized religion. I just don't like it when someone starts preaching that their way is the only way. The only person in life you have any control of is yourself. Be a good person, keep yourself in line and others will follow.

9. What do you drive? 2002 Dodge Dakota - I can't live without a truck.

10. What would you consider your personality? (outgoing, shy, bubbly, etc.)I'm not an absolute extrovert who's ready to make an ass of himself regardless of the consequences; but I'm definitely not an introvert. Once I establish a comfort level, I speak up.

11. Do you believe in global warming? I believe that mankind can have an impact on the environment; but I also believe in the Earth's natural cycles. I think the recent surge of global warming hysteria is only because of the upcoming 2008 election. Watch and see how much the hysteria dies out after the election.

12. Tell us something about yourself that we'd never guess. When I was in the Marine Corps, I was part of the Yankee White Presidential Security Program. I provided security for President Reagan and George H. Bush.

I over-compensate by being pushy & annoying most times so nobody ever buys the shy thing. Though, once I know you, I am the best loyal friend you'll ever have.
11. Do you believe in global warming? I do believe that we have an impact on the world, but I also believe that the earth has its' own natural cycles. We are definitely making things worse, but we'll never stop it.
12. Tell us something about yourself that we'd never guess. Wow...I met Richard Nixon on Guam in 1968, I majored in Music Education, then realized I would be a poor teacher so went into computers/lasers, I was once tested and had an IQ of 148, I also have ADD.
