DIY Carbonator Cap, using Gas Post

Use a pop bottle cap, drill 1/2 hole in it, and connect corny gas post to barbed part i bought at lowes for 2.50.

I have tested it up to 120 psi for 24 hrs and no leaks.

Carbonator caps are good for re or over carbonating water, oj, lime juice and beer.

120psi lemon water tastes like alkaseltzer.

very nice. I built mine with tire stems. My way forces me to add an extra hose on my co2 manifold. Yours is much nicer.

love it. was just thinking what i am going to do with my carbinated water now that i have to fit another keg in it's place. A few of these are in my future unless i empty another keg in the next few days...

Thanks for this great idea. Those carbonator caps go for $20!! The only thing I would change is that the fitting ought to be stainless since it's going to contact finished beer. I always have an empty keg laying around that I could borrow the post off of. This makes it easy to fill for beer to go. I use a jumper with a beer QD on one end and a gas QD on the other. Just click and fill in a plastic bottle. I'm doing this right away.

I bought my carb cap for $15. With the price of a post at $10 and that nipple at $3, I wouldn't be saving much money.

If you have an extra post not being used, this is definitely a good build.
