Hi.

Re: Where To Buy Fresh Brewers Yeast

I'm in the UK. Anyone know where i can buy it from?

Thanks

brewers yeast in the US is generally dead & baked yeast hulls, commonly available at health/natural food stores and some grocery stores. Some folks use it as a yeast nutrient.

Do you mean yeast for use in brewing?

Hi

Thanks for the replies.

I'm new to brewing and this will be my first attempt at brewing so i have been doing a
bit of researching before i take the plunge.

I came across this review on a website and the reviewer stated the following. I try and use a fresh brewers yeast which seems to give better results than the dried sachet supplied with the beer.

So i thought i would use fresh brewers yeast

Thanks

The common problem with the yeast in kits is age, not the fact that it's dried yeast. When you are just starting, dried yeast is much easier to work with.

I think the TS means fresh yeast as in fresh newly manufactured yeast?
If you got a local brewery nearby, you can ask them to provide you with some.
