Bev seal on Beer nut

I purchased some Bev Seal 3/16 beer line and have heated both ends and this is all I can get onto beer nut. Any recs? Thanks

Yeah, it's a real b**ch to get it over the nipple, as you've discovered. There are a few threads on here on this very subject. Basically, lots of heat and determination.

They are what I used and they work beautifully.

How do they work?

They thread directly onto your 1/4" MFL fitting. The Bev Seal slips right in the other side and forms a seal.

On the shank side, replace your standard barbed tailpiece with one of these MFL tailpieces and you're all set (assuming that your current shanks have a removable tailpiece held on with a beer nut and rubber washer).

You'll need 2 John Guest fittings and 1 MFL tailpiece for each tap. Certainly not as cost effective as the brute force method you're already familiar with, but worth the cost in my estimation. Cost for me was just under $40 to outfit 3 taps with the above hardware, not including the Bev Seal.

They also make 5/32" flare barbs which is easier to get the tubing onto than the 3/16" barbs.

I say forget the barb fitting. It's hard tubing and not really meant to go in a barb fitting. It's meant more for the John Guest type fittings shown below (it's what I use and have had zero problems).

Simple installation. Cut tubing to length (be sure the ends are square), push into the fitting, pull to ensure it don't come out and screw it on to the shank/disconnect. Takes about 30 seconds total.

I use the John Guest fittings and I love them.

How would you connect the hose to the micromatic 90 degree shank in the tower. The hose is too rigid to make the bend. See the shank below.

Not sure how much room you have but what I did in a couple of spots is use a elbow. So you would have the female adapter off the shank ------>short piece of tubing-------> elbow. It worked for me in tight spots but it all depends on the amount of room you have
