Should I use more than one gallon of water for a one gallon batch of barleywine I am boiling for 90 minutes?

This is my first one gallon batch, thanks!

In my experience, I lose about 1 gal per hour due to evaporation. Soooooo yes, you need to start with a LOT more than 1 gallon

I'd mark on a stick or something where 1gallon is in your pot, start with like 1.5 gallons, and then be ready to add water if it goes below the mark during the boil.

Obviously I can't speak for your setup/stove but I start with 2.25 gallons and get down to 1.1 after 88 minutes
