It's not that I'm too cheap to buy the BeerSmith software, it's that I have a Mac. Can someone run this recipe and adjust it for a 4 gallon boil? It is set up for a 1.5 gallon boil. Thanks!

TrueBrew California Common

6.6 lbs unhopped Light LME
8 oz Dark Crystal steeping grain
2 oz Pilgrim bittering hops 11%AA
1 oz First Gold aroma hops 7%AA
11.5 gram Saflager S-23 dry yeast

Ran your recipe through BeerSmith and here is what I came up with:

OG: 1.048
FG: 1.012
IBU: 44.4
SRM: 11.1
ABV: 4.6

What kind of beer is this supposed to be. I am going to guess APA based on the numbers.

Yeah, it's a Steam beer. My question is regarding hop utilization. Since the instructions go by a 1-1.5 gallon boil, and I want to do a 4 gallon boil, how does that effect my hops utilization? Specifically, what amounts of the bittering and aroma hops should I use in a 4 gallon boil?

Never mind. I finally sort of figured out how to use BeerTools Pro. I've answered my own question.
