Can I ask what made you decide that the Convolutus was better?

The desciption is here, but the condensed version is that the inner tubing has twists in it to ensure that all the wort flowing through has a chance at being in contact with the tubing wall. This improves cooling efficiency if the theory is correct.

Still a bit more than i was hoping to pay. I plan to use this as a heat exchanger & cooling in my Brutus 20 system. I'd rather not recirc my mash thru my Therminator so I was hoping to find one of these units for a cheap price after someone upgraded to a Therminator.

But alas, it looks the like DIY method will be the cheapest. Even more so considering that I already have half the copper needed to make it.

Thanks all for the offers!

As does the Chillzilla. Which is what prompted me to ask why you felt once convoluted chiller was better than another convoluted chiller.
