Trub Question?? (Pics)

Now, im not worried about an infection (Unless someone thinks it is) but i wanted to know what all the little things on the trub are? This is my third batch, and all my others had a pretty solid trub. This one has those little floating things and i was just curious as to what they were.

The brew is a winter spiced ale from NB, Extract.
 
Winter spiced... I'm assuming that means you had some deal of dried spice put into the wort before fermenting? Does it look like it could be something like that? The last pic is a bit hard to make out.
 
I figured it was probably something to do with the mulling spices i put in at the end of the boil. Just curious about things, im still a newbie.
