New airlock activity

this is my second batch...I Brewed Tuesday night...checked the airlock Wed AM nop activity..checked Wed pm still no activity..Thurs am still none...Thuirs pm I checked for form..there was a ring about 1 -2 inches above wort...does this mean there was fermentation even though there was no airlock activity..I check the seal on the lid and it was tight....thanks
 
Yes, 48 hours ferments at 70F are quite possible, had several myself. Lower gravity worts can ferment fast because the yeast don't have to fight high osmotic pressures.

Yeast can be really sneaky, you probably had an overnight fermentation.

That ring is from the krausen falling and that's normal.

The ale is fine.

Give it another day or two. If the SG is unchanged, move it to the secondary.
