fourth 'kit' brew. pumpkin ale. put into secondary glass carboy week and a half ago, left town, and when came back, theres a cloudy white/gray film on the top of the brew. any help ??

It's most likely C02. It's possible that it could also be a mild bacterial infection (there is one that shares the same symptoms of "white film on top"), but it's nothing to worry about. If it doesn't smell or taste bad/funky, you're fine. Even if it does, there are many who drink infected (not saying yours is, since it's most likely not) beers after giving them a while to mellow out, or after adding flavoring to them.

Taste it, smell it, and bottle it.

By the way, can you post a picture of it?
