What is the deal with keg lid feet?

So, apparently they are no longer available? I have not checked everywhere but some places say they are discontinued and others say they have been out of stock for about a year.

Are they necessary to get a good seal? I have one keg that is missing one. The little gray plastic feet on the bales of the corny keg lid. Does the lid not seat as well without them? Would I be better off removing the one that is there for equal pressure?


Am I keg newb or what? :drunk:

so it is missing both then? That was my thought, remove the one still there and have equal pressure...
 
I just jam a dime underneath the missing foot. After pressurizing, I don't think they matter anyway.
