counter flow or immersion chiller

i was just reading that with a counterflow chiller you need a hop back device, does that apply for immersion chillers, i am currently doing 5 gallon batches. any advice would be appriciated.
 
You need a hop FILTER, like a stainless steel scrubby on the pickup tube. Or use hop bags.

The hopback is for adding additional aroma to the wort.
 
Yeah what he said... and on top of that you do not need anything like that for a immersion chiller... just drop it in the boil 15 minutes before the end of the boil to make it sanitary and crank the cold water once your boil is over.
