Pretty simple topic, if you needed to make your favorite IPA right now what is your go to, house IPA grainbill. Just curious as to what everyone likes to do.

All Grain
Dry West Coast Style
148-150 F Mash Temp
1.070 OG
<1.012 FG

A mix of American and English 2-row for the base

Then 5-6% each:

White or Red Wheat
Light Munich (10L)

Then 3-4% each:

Carapils
Light Crystal (10-40L)
Corn Sugar (optional)

2-row (adjust depending upon desired OG)
1 lb crystal (40, 60, 80)

I like to keep things simple.

12lbs 2-row (domestic)
2lbs Munich 10L
0.5lb Caramel 20L

Mash around 149-150. This grainbill was stolen from a BYO article a while back and has never let me down. I really like the Munich in there.

2-row and a little c-40 for color, about 9ish SRM. Adjust up or down for higher or lower OG. That's it.

13lb 2-row
8oz Cara-Pils
8oz C-60

The grain bill was easy...the hop schedule i wouldn't be able to say because I haven't used the same one twice yet! :drunk:

It does seem that most of us are keeping the grain bill rather simple though.

I've made a great red IPA with 10 lbs 2 row, 3 lbs Briess 80, and 2 lbs Munich. It has a nice red color and caramel flavor that goes perfect with my hop choices. I'm experimenting with a "dark" IPA as well just changing out the specialty malts with chocolate.
