I purchased two White labs California ale yeast and they both fizzed like a soda bottle when I opened them.
Any thoughts on that?

Really. I've never had that happen before. I assumed it was bad, and ruined my 1st all grain batch.
I started a 2L starter tonight and used 2 tubes of WL001. I shake each tube to throughly mix all the yeast and both of them were just like opening a 2liter bottle of soda that was shaken up. It's like that with all my white lab yeasts
