Medeski, Martin & Wood are AWESOME!! I suspect you will really like em. Salmon is a jammin, cajun style band, Broken Social Scene is an aquired taste, new indy/surfer band. Ozric is just out there, kind of new wave techno but with real instruments and a big as synth.

Never caught Ozric :(, but have seen MMW and LoS a bunch as well. And actually, the local distributor that distributes our wine (I work for a winery)...one of the sales reps is a former bass player for LoS.

Malibu - Hole
Pomp and Pride - Toots and the Maytals
Jailbreak - Thin Lizzy
Bar Room Hero - Drop Kick Murphys
Santa Monica - Everclear

I saw Ozric in Asheville, at the Orange Peel. Someone's son was guest sitting in with them, I believe it was one fo the members from Pink Floyd's kid. ANyway, it was a KILLER show.

Joseph Campbell - A Person Who Behaves As He 'ought' To Behave...
Death Cap for Cutie - Your Heart is an Empty Room
Trouble's Braid - Tom Waits
Glad - David Byrne
Still - Macy Gray

Actually thats a good mix tape.

Roadhouse Blues- The Doors

Constant Craving- k.d. lang
Hello It's Me- Todd Rundgren
Sugar On Sunday- Tommy James & The Shondells

Big Punisher - You Ain't a Killer

Paradise by the Malboro Light - Rye Coalition

OK. Go - A Million Ways
Norah Jones - Above Ground
Beethoven - Adagio molto e cantibile
Foo Fighters - Ain't it the Life
Joe Satriani - Always with Me, Always with You

Guess that's why I usually do playlists and avoid random. :)

I just had to go to the next 5 cause that first one seemed kind of heavy loaded to one side of the musical spectrum:

Little White Lines -- Shooter Jennings
One Up -- Mixel Pixel
Pu**** -- Tool
Brain Damage (feat Dr. Israel) -- Easy Star All-Stars
Love Train -- Wolfmother

Shocktime - Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
One Foot in the Gutter - Psychograss
Blackberry Blossum - Tony Rice
Buffalo Nickel - Bela Fleck
Only a Thought Away - Blue Highway

"Sphere -qu-" Sacred Shrine Edit - Yoshi taka Hirota
'64 aka Go - Lemon Jelly
Waiting So Long - Susumu Hirasawa
21st Century Schizoid Man - King Crimson
transcendence - Nujabes + Fat Jon

First one is a remix of a piece from a Shadow Hearts game, the third and last are background music in two anime series (Berserk and Samurai Champloo, respectively).

Edit due to "Yoshi taka" being filtered if it was all one word

First 5 from the ipod,

No Attention - Soundgarden
No Way Back - Foo Fighters
Throw Away Your Television - Red Hot Chile Peppers
The Ocean - Led Zepplin
Show Me The Way - Peter Frampton

And, since I have less than 1/3 of my music on the ipod right now, here's the first 5 from my entire itunes music library,

I'm So Cute - Frank Zappa
Too Much Rope - Roger Waters
Ascension - Dead Can Dance
Fats Revisited - Angelo Badalamenti
Amor E Morte - Cradle Of Filth

Sinister Purpose - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Kar ma Chameleon - Culture Club :(

Damn! I've been sabotaged.

You are right. M, M, & Wood are pretty cool.

Love your av, BTW. That disc has one of my all-time fave songs on it. Waste. Great song.

Malibu - Hole! that is a super CD, very under-rated IMHO.

Great selection there, BTW.

Social Disease- Elton John
Driving to Jacks- Elton John
American Triangle- Elton John
Slave- Elton John
The King Must Die- Elton John

Apparently you caught me with my all Elton John playlist loaded...

Wonderwall-Oasis
Marshall Mathers-Eminem
Hot Blooded-Foreigner
Round and Round- Ratt
She blinded me with science-Thomas Dolby

Smashing Pumpkins - Here Is no Why
King Crimson - Pictures of A City
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Thirty Dirty Birds (Just a skit, but it still came up)
Chevelle - Open
Stone Temple Pilots - Sex and Violence

I know the feeling. My tastes are eclectic but there are days -- and, oddly enough, many of them seem to be brewing days or baking days -- when I have the house to myself, and it's the Kentucky Colonels turned up to 11.

I noted the Psychograss, too. David Grier is a mad genius. There are days that I aspire to play as well as Dan Crary back when he had hair (circa 1970). That, somehow, seems achievable in my lifetime. Playing like Grier, however, would take an unlimited bus pass to reincarnation. "No, really, I think I can get Porkchops and Applesauce down this time! Please let me go 'round again."

Chad

By the way, if you don't have it, give Mark Knopfler/Emmylou Harris's "All the Road Running" a serious listen. Very good stuff.
