i just kegged my first two beers. if force carbed at 30 psi and shook it until it was carbed. i then served at about 8 psi and it is carbed but there is no head at all. its not the glass bc i get head from commercial beers. wats goin on here?

Was it chilled already when you shook it? If not, it must be chilled in order to absorb the proper amount of CO2.

Set it at 12 psi and wait a week. It's the best way and only way I do it.

i just wash them with hot water. its not the glass cause i pour commercial beers into this glass and there is head

A beer that's carbed but poured with no head just means you didn't give the stream enough fall when you hit 3/4 of a glass. If you're doing it right, then it's probably undercarbed.
