Whenever I read a thread by someone that seems rather silly, I like to check their history. In this case, I found that Billy's post have been pretty well-informed and reasonable. So I strongly urge one and all to step down and cut the guy some slack.

Tacate is sort of a BMC thing. More to the point though, it's a light lager so it's not an easy thing to copy because lagers require a lot of equipment (or a nice cave to lager in), a lot of patience, and skill (there is such little flavor that defects are very apparent).

As a result, it's not something commonly done. If you like lagers, can I suggest a you try a koelsch? Or a steam beer?

Hey...there's nothing wrong with Tecate. I would really enjoy a recipe for it as well. I have a multi-tap kegerator at home and there are some people that just do not go for the home brew/microbrewery flavor. Face it, there are those who just enjoy the watery commercial beers. I would rather have a keg of tecate on tap (home brewed would be even better!) An ice cold Tecate is delicious with a light and satisfying flavor that doesn't have the watered down taste! :ban:

Come on brewers....there has to be a recipe out there somewhere! Help us out!

Negra modelo won't work. That's a Vienna style lager, like dos equis. Too much flavor for this request. Tecate is a pale lager, like corona but a step down. Some might even say that it is like the pbr of Mexico

this might be a good place to start. one could get beersmith to convert this to extract, I just don't feel like entering it in.
